webclint error

When we deploy windows based vCenter server (vSphere 5 or 6) we usually start or restart the service using service.msc MMC console on windows based vCenter server.

But how do we do the same thing when we deploy VCSA (vCenter server appliance)?

very simple, connect to VCSA appliance using SSH connection (putty or some other tool),

navigate to ‘cd /etc/init.d‘ and list all the files using ‘ls‘ command

note: you will find all the vCenter services under /etc/init.d.

find ‘vsphere-client‘ service (aka vsphere web-client service) availability in the list .

verify the service status using ‘service vsphere-client status

if not running, start the service using ‘service vsphere-client start

wait for 2-3 minutes, then login to VCSA appliance using web client service through browser – https://(IP-address or FQDN of vCenter server):9443

you should be able to login without error.
